Ancor Recovery Center is an Opioid Overdose Prevention Program through New York State.  Staff are available to train and distribute Naloxone to the community.  Either Sign up to be trained or click the link below and take the training online.  Bring your completion certificate to the center and get your kit.   • Recovery Coach Academy

    What is a Recovery Coach

    A 5-day intensive training academy focusing on providing individuals with the skills needed to guide, mentor, and support anyone who would like to enter or sustain long-term recovery from an addiction to alcohol or other drugs. Provided in a retreat like environment, the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy prepares participants by helping them to actively listen, ask good questions, and discover, and manage their own stuff.

  • Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches

    Recovery Coaching as a peer-to-peer recovery support services has grown exponentially over the past few years. The issue of ethical considerations has been discussed in many circles, yet formal training has been lacking for recovery coaches. This 16-hour training addresses this critical need.

More and more, coaches are being utilized in a variety of settings, including doctors’ offices, police stations, drug courts, treatment centers, and most notably Emergency Department.   • Naloxone (Narcan) Training

    Naloxone is a medication that reverses overdoses from opioids such as heroin and prescription painkillers. New Yorkers can get this life-saving medication without prescription at certain community-based organizations (for free) and at pharmacies that have agreed to participate in our voluntary standing order program (with insurance or out-of-pocket). Anchor Recovery Center of NNY has trained staff who can train community members in administering Naloxone. Training is offered for free, Naloxone Kits are offered on sight for emergency situations or can be picked up from a local pharmacy.

  • Science of Addiction & Recovery

    Science of Addiction & Recovery (SOAR), is a ground-breaking training, originally funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). SOAR was designed to start the conversation about addiction and recovery to a wide range of audiences, including: law enforcement, schools, parent and family groups, health care providers, housing and child welfare agencies, recovery support providers and more.

  • Best Practice Trainers

    Anchor Recovery Center of NNY has certified trainers on staff who are certified as Best Practice Trainers. Best Practice Trainers provide comprehensive training and support to budding peer professionals.

    Best Practice Trainers:

    • conduct a face-to-face screening interview
    • provide all 46 hours of NYCB-approved training (Both RCA + Ethics, or other approved curriculum)
    • mentor students through the CRPA certification process:
        * may assist with obtaining volunteer hours,
        * provide resources to prepare for the exam and
        * write a letter of recommendation.
    • host a monthly student learning collaborative
    • provide certification renewal training

Methadone is recovery.
Methadone anonymous considered mat a tool of recovery.
Methadone, suboxone, vivitrol, all are welcome that are currently on Medication Assisted Therapy.
